Chengdu Basin: Tea Plantations and Pingle Ancient Town

Chengdu Basin: Tea Plantations and Pingle Ancient Town

Difficulty Level:

The day tour leaves Chengdu by vehicle in the morning to get out of the urban traffic.  Riding begins near the small suburban city of Chongzhou and meanders southwest through an eclectic array of farmland. You get a chance to see parts of the canal network that results from the 2000 year old irrigation levy in Dujiangyan, diverting the Min River throughout the Chengdu Basin.  Crop farms shift from corn, rapeseed, rice, and later into some of China’s oldest tea plantations near the western foothills. There is an option to visit some sites near Anren or the ancient village at the destination in Pingle. This route’s difficulty level is moderate and includes a minimum amount of climbing in the last 15km.

There are two options of 45km and 60km for this day tour.  Bicycle rental with helmet, transportation to/from Chengdu, and a group lunch enjoying local cuisine is included.

Group rates start at $50/person.  Interested in a private tour, send us a message!
