Thought we could take a short cut through a parallel valley to the one we needed but got stuck and had to lug the bikes over a ridge.

Andreas fjording.

Awesome dry dirt hilly ride, with a straight drop off the side to a valley. Road into Tingri.

Ruins on the Friendship highway, Just before I turned off west to take the Psieko shortcut and Andreas, Petter, Steve and Shaun continued south to Nepal.

Alone again.

The roads kinda deteriorated. But excellent riding.

Still excellent.

Looking south west in the direction of Xixibangma. Wonderful to wash in fresh stream.

Sand made riding not excellent. Had to push. Xixibangma I think...............8000mts.

Took a rest day. Revitalising solitude after the circus at Base camp and Old Tingri.

Pseiko Tso and a dry glaicer running into it.

Dry again.

Truck Stuck. I waited out this storm in the truck. Lightning grounding itself a few 100mts away.

Saga. Boot maker fixing my cheap Chinese pannier.

I took the wrong road out of Saga. New roads old maps, frequent problem. Ended up on the south side of the Yarlung Tsangpo and towards Nepal before getting back to the main road 200km away. Just followed the river and eventually came good. Definatley closed areas. met the ”Frontier Police,“ and was shooed away from an army base. I imagined very few if any Westerners had made it that way, very traditonal Tibetan living. Very isolated.

Felt nice barefoot.

Lost. trying to get back to the right road.

Monastery south of the Tsangpo.

Stuck on the sothern side of the river. No more roads. Could see the road I wanted on the other side of the river but impossble to cross.

Last known picture of my pocket knife. Dropped it into the river off this bridge. First bridge after Paryang.
