Another pass.

It doesn't take long for them to comandeer operations. With all of the best intentions but sometimes more harm than good.

Passing the north eastern corner of the Changtang.

Rear wheel pin snapped just in time for a snow storm. Got a sympathy ride pretty quick, but couldn't a new part till Lhasa. So didn't get to ride a fair part of the way.

A vulture. There was a flock of about 12.

Once bike was fixed in Lhasa, I headed back north to Nam Tso top make up for lost ground. Scenery flora and fauna changed again.

About 2/3 of the way up the grass section in the middle is a black dot. A Tibetan strutting his back yard. This face stemmed straight up from the edge of the road. Ridge is around 5000mts.

La Ken La, and Nam Tso(lake) in the back ground.

Atop the headland at Nam Tso. Just below is the makeshift tourist circus.

Nam Tso. Looking South east the highest peak in this range......... is about 7000m

Nam Tso.

Back up to the pass to get out of the valley.

First signs of spring and on comming warmth. Rhiodola.

A checkpoint into Lhasa. One of the more elaborate one, usually just army tents or sheds. I cruised through with no hassels.

First picture out of Lhasa. The Yarlung Tsangpo. The River that leads to the Centre of the Universe.

First and last open fire of my whole journey. Were no more trees till Xinjiang.

Met Shaun (Eng), Brice, (US) and Steve (Eng), all based in HK. Spent a few days riding together. Steve in the tent fending off AMS, Brice and Shaun trying to use the herders slingshot/cattle whip.

Next day after they acclimatised, up to the pass in the rain. Steve hat backwards, Brice hat forwards.

Myself at the pass.

Steve, Shaun, Brice, cruising the new road around Yamdrok Tso. Beautifully smooth.
