"The world is our carpet now
The world is our dancefloor now
Remind me how to dance again
The world is our carpet now
Yes we're here
Free to laugh and cry
When I can't move
I'll enjoy the still for a while
And lose myself in waves
And mountains and the sky"

Yangshuo to Nanning

Nanning, China
Sunday, Sep 09, 2007 08:00

Honestly, and I don’t like to put this, but there is nothing to report on Nanning. We should have realised Nanning was going to be pretty uneventful when we unable to locate any backpacker hostels and could only find 3 and 4 star hotels. Nanning is a town with nothing for backpackers other than a Vietnamese consulate and a way out of China.

We stupidly travelled to Nanning on a Saturday. The consulate was shut on Sundays so we had a day there with nothing to do other than sit in the hotel and wind each other up (which we excelled at). To top it off we got ripped off by the tourist agency there and ended up paying double for our bus tickets to Hanoi. Less time I spend reporting that the better.
