Bangkok to Beijing by Bike - May

2 months | 3000km | 4th country; China
May 28, 2006 on 23:08

I made it into the last of the four countries of my trip, but still have the longest part of the ride ahead of me (in distance and time). Already I had to change my tactics. No more; getting up at 5.30 or 6.00am. Nothing is happening in China at that time, shops are closed and it is probably raining. So it is better to get up at a later time and do a sunshine dance, I forgot who taught me that… let me guess…

Today, May 31st has been the first day that has been without pouring, a day in which I have not worn my bright pink rain poncho for a single second. But I still had to cope with some refreshing drizzle though… The rain and the hilly landscape have had quite an impact on my average speed (read; it has gone down). I cannot say it is good for the moral either. Hope it gets and will stay dry soon.
